September 6, 2025: Litchfield, IL 62056 Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the Litchfield Purple Panthers (Litchfield, IL) and the visiting Maryville Christian Lions (Maryville, IL), saw Litchfield's soccer squad prevail over Maryville Christian by a count of 5-1.
The Purple Panthers (4-1) will now prepare for their battle against Pana (Pana, IL). The Panthers enter the South Central match with a 1-5 record. In their last match, Pana by Athens/Greenview/Illini Central (Athens, IL), 7-2, in a non-league match.
The Lions now sport a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they host Mater Dei for a non-league match on Monday, September 8. Maryville Christian will meet a Knights team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Highland (Highland, IL). The Knights record now stands at 2-2.
