Pierce Bears (Arbuckle, CA) backers were pleased Saturday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the host Lincoln Fighting Zebras (Lincoln, CA), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Bears (12-6) will now prepare for their challenge against River Valley (Yuba City, CA). The Falcons come into the non-league challenge with a 1-5 record. In their last challenge, River Valley was nudged by Pioneer (Woodland, CA), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Fighting Zebras meet the Bear River Bruins (Grass Valley, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 6. Lincoln will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Bruins come into the challenge with a 10-4 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Roseville (Roseville, CA).
