Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Apalachee Wildcats (Winder, GA) and the host Monroe Area Hurricanes (Monroe, GA), witnessed Apalachee's softball squad tip Monroe Area by a count of 8-6.

The Wildcats now sport a 10-3 record. They play next when they travel to Gainesville for a 8-AAAAAA match on Thursday, September 8. Apalachee will meet a Red Elephants squad coming off a 21-4 non-league win over Clarke Central (Athens, GA). The Red Elephants record now stands at 6-10.

With the loss, Monroe Area moves to 1-11 on the season. The Hurricanes host Franklin County (Carnesville, GA) to meet the Lions in a 8-AAA match on Thursday, September 8. The Lions go into the match with a record of 11-3. Franklin County won 6-5 in their recent non-league match against Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA)
