Match Summary
The Dunnellon varsity tigers won a grueling back and forth match in 4 sets. We took the first set 25-19, Lost the second 20-25, then righted the ship to win the last two sets 25-21 & 25-16. We showed flashes of greatness in parts of many of the sets, especially closing out the 4th set, but need to focus down to bring our best every point. Our hits keep getting better and better and as a team we are swinging with with much more confidence. The standout players of the match were Sarah Velazquez and Shamyra Reid. Sarah’s serve was on fire as has become her norm. She served 5 aces and our team won an amazing 18 out of 25 points she served. She also got in on our improved hitting, notching 3 Ks on 5 hits and 1 dig. Shamyra led our team with outstanding net play, posting 4 blocks and 4 kills on 5 hits. He nose for the ball around the net keeps getting better and better.
