In Friday's league match, the visiting Abingdon Falcons football squad scored a close 17-14 victory over the Gate City Blue Devils.

In their next game, the Falcons clash with the Richlands Blue Tornado (Richlands, VA) in a non-league match, on Saturday, September 16. Abingdon will attempt to move on its 1-2 season record.

The Blue Devils (2-1) will now prepare for their match against Marion (Marion, VA). The Scarlet Hurricanes enter the non-league match with a 2-1 record. In their last match, Marion held off Lebanon (Lebanon, VA), 40-20, in a league match.
