The North Gaston Wildcats football squad scored 55 points and restricted the visiting Cherryville Ironmen to 7 in the Wildcats non-league victory on Friday.

The Wildcats now possess a 2-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Forestview for a Big South 3A battle on Friday, September 15. North Gaston will play a Jaguars squad coming off a 27-19 non-league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Jaguars record now stands at 1-2.

Coming up next, the Ironmen play the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont battle, on Friday, September 15. Cherryville will attempt to advance on its 0-4 season record. The Golden Lions enter the battle with a 1-3 record after their 51-21 non-league win over Olympic (Charlotte, NC).
