In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Corvian Community Cardinals football squad scored a big 58-0 victory over the Garinger Wildcats.

In their next game, the Cardinals clash with the Winston-Salem Prep Phoenix (Winston-Salem, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference A match, on Friday, September 15. Corvian Community will attempt to move on its 2-2 season record. The Phoenix enter the match with a 1-2 record after their 41-8 non-league win over Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC).

The Wildcats (0-4) will now prepare for their match against Butler (Matthews, NC). The Bulldogs enter the Southwestern 4A match with a 3-1 record. In their last match, Butler routed Weddington (Matthews, NC), 22-15, in a non-league match.
