The Normal University Pioneers thwarted the visiting Springfield Southeast Spartans football team by a count of 42-26 in Friday's league outing.

With the win, Normal University upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Pioneers host MacArthur (Decatur, IL) to encounter the Generals in a Central State Eight outing on Friday, September 15.
