Georgia High School Softball - Oglethorpe County topped by Clarke Central
September 8, 2025: Athens, GA 30605 Clarke Central Gladiators (Athens, GA) backers left the game pleased Monday as they saw their softball squad thwart the visiting Oglethorpe County Patriots (Lexington, GA), 11-3 in a non-league game.
With the triumph, Clarke Central upgrades its record to 6-4 on the year. The Gladiators host Winder-Barrow (Winder, GA) to meet the Bulldoggs in a 5A Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, September 9. The Bulldoggs enter the challenge with a record of 5-7. Winder-Barrow lost 11-1 in their recent league challenge against Jackson County (Jefferson, GA)
The Patriots (8-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Elbert County (Elberton, GA). The Blue Devils come into the 1A D-I Region 8 battle with a 12-3 record. In their last battle, Elbert County was routed by Prince Avenue Christian (Athens, GA), 3-0, in a non-league battle.
