September 9, 2022: Cumberland Gap, TN 37724 Union County Patriots (Maynardville, TN) fans left the game content Friday as they saw their football team gain a win over the host Cumberland Gap Panthers (Cumberland Gap, TN), 36-24 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, Union County improves its record to 1-3 on the campaign. The Patriots host Gatlinburg-Pittman (Gatlinburg, TN) to battle the Highlanders in a 3A Region 2 test on Friday, September 16. The Highlanders come into the test with a record of 3-1. Gatlinburg-Pittman won 35-28 in their recent non-league test against Loudon (Loudon, TN)
With the loss, Cumberland Gap drops to 1-2 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to South Greene (Greeneville, TN) to battle the Rebels in a 2A Region 1 test on Friday, September 16. The Rebels come into the test with a record of 1-3. South Greene lost 16-14 in their recent non-league test against West Greene (Mosheim, TN)
