In Friday's non-league game, the Robbinsville Black Knights (Robbinsville, NC) football team got by the host Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC), by a score of 28-27.

The Black Knights (3-1) will now prepare for their game against Alleghany (Sparta, NC). The Trojans come into the non-league game with a 1-2 record.

The Mustangs now sport a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they host Pisgah for a 3A West Conference 54 game on Friday, September 16. Smoky Mountain will meet a Bears team coming off a 20-7 non-league loss to Swain County (Bryson City, NC). The Bears record now stands at 1-2.
