The Sherwood Warriors (Sandy Spring, MD) football edged the visiting Paint Branch Panthers (Burtonsville, MD), 8-7 in Saturday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Warriors face the Magruder Colonels (Rockville, MD) in a Montgomery County 3A bout, on Thursday, September 14. Sherwood will attempt to advance on its 2-0 season record. The Colonels enter the bout with a 2-0 record after their 35-0 non-league win over Watkins Mill (Gaithersburg, MD).
