Illinois High School Soccer - Champaign Central knocks off Mt. Zion
September 9, 2023: Champaign, IL 61820 Champaign Central Maroons (Champaign, IL) supporters exited the stadium pleased Saturday as they observed their soccer team prevail over the visiting Mt. Zion Braves (Mt. Zion, IL), 4-0 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Champaign Central moves its record to 5-2 on the year. The Maroons host Peoria (Peoria, IL) to battle the Lions in a Big Twelve bout on Monday, September 11. The Lions enter the bout with a record of 1-2. Peoria lost 6-0 in their recent league bout against Normal West (Normal, IL)
In their next game, the Braves battle the Williamsville Bullets (Williamsville, IL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, September 11. Mt. Zion will attempt to move on its 5-2 season record. The Bullets enter the bout with a 6-1 record after their 1-1 non-league Sacred Heart-Griffin (Springfield, IL).
