Tennessee High School Football - Covington smashes Brighton

September 10, 2021: Covington, TN 38019

The Covington Chargers (Covington, TN) football routed the visiting Brighton Cardinals (Brighton, TN), 58-22 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Chargers clash with the Ripley Tigers (Ripley, TN) in a 3A Region 7 bout, on Friday, September 17. Covington will attempt to improve on its 4-0 season record. The Tigers go into the outing with a 3-1 record after their 28-12 non-league loss to Jackson North Side (Jackson, TN).

With the loss, Brighton moves to 2-1 on the season. The Cardinals host Memphis Central (Memphis, TN) to confront the Warriors in a 5A Region 8 outing on Friday, September 17. The Warriors go into the outing with a record of 3-0. Memphis Central won 31-27 in their recent league outing against Dyer County (Newbern, TN)
