The Rootstown Rovers held off the visiting Liberty Leopards football team by a final score of 24-20 in Friday's non-league outing.

With the win, Rootstown improves its record to 3-1 on the season. The Rovers travel to Southeast (Ravenna, OH) to confront the Pirates in a Portage Trail outing on Friday, September 17. The Pirates go into the outing with a record of 4-0. Southeast won 42-6 in their recent non-league outing against North (Akron, OH)

With the loss, Liberty moves to 2-2 on the season. The Leopards host Crestview (Columbiana, OH) to confront the Rebels in a Mahoning Valley - Grey outing on Friday, September 17. The Rebels go into the outing with a record of 2-2. Crestview won 47-7 in their recent league outing against Memorial (Campbell, OH)
