September 10, 2022: Newland, NC 28657 The West Iredell Warriors (Statesville, NC) volleyball overcame the host Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC), 3-0 in Saturday's non-league outing.
With the win, West Iredell upgrades its record to 7-2 on the year. The Warriors host St. Stephens (Hickory, NC) to face the Indians in a Western Foothills 3A outing on Monday, September 12. The Indians go into the outing with a record of 10-2. St. Stephens won 3-2 in their recent league outing against Foard (Newton, NC)
The Vikings now own a 6-4 record. They play next when they host Mountain Heritage for a Western Highlands 1A/2A outing on Tuesday, September 13. Avery County will face a Cougars squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Owen (Black Mountain, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 6-3.
