September 11, 2024: West Jefferson, NC 28694 Fans at Wednesday's non-league contest between the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) and the visiting Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), observed Ashe County's volleyball team top Alexander Central by a count of 2-0.
The Huskies (8-0) will now prepare for their contest against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Panthers enter the non-league contest with a 6-1 record. In their last contest, Hibriten notched a victory over Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC), 2-1, in a non-league contest.
Next, the Cougars meet the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) in a non-league contest, on Monday, September 16. Alexander Central will attempt to move on its 1-8 season record. The Pioneers enter the contest with a 5-1 record after their 2-0 non-league win over South Caldwell (Hudson, NC).
