In Thursday's non-league game, the Catawba Ridge Copperheads (Fort Mill, SC) football team overcame the host Spring Valley Vikings (Columbia, SC), by a tally of 24-3.

In their next game, the Copperheads battle the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets (Fort Mill, SC) in a AAAAA Region 3 game, on Friday, September 19. Catawba Ridge will attempt to advance on its 3-1 season record. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a 4-0 record after their 38-7 non-league win over Lancaster (Lancaster, SC).

The Vikings now own a 2-2 record. They play next when they travel to Sumter for a AAAAA Region 5 bout on Friday, September 19. Spring Valley will encounter a Gamecocks team coming off a 28-0 non-league win over Crestwood (Sumter, SC). The Gamecocks record now stands at 3-1.
