In Thursday's non-league match, the host Johnson Jaguars football squad scored a good 38-10 victory over the McAllen Memorial Mustangs.

The Jaguars (3-0) will now prepare for their match against Brandeis (San Antonio, TX). The Broncos enter the 6A Region IV District 27 match with a 2-1 record. In their last match, Brandeis was beaten by Steele (Cibolo, TX), 42-22, in a non-league battle.

The Mustangs now own a 1-2 record. They play next when they host Rio Grande City for a 5A-1 Region IV District 16 battle on Friday, September 19. McAllen Memorial will play a Rattlers team coming off a 53-27 non-league loss to Veterans Memorial (Brownsville, TX). The Rattlers record now stands at 0-3.
