Utah High School Football - Maple Mountain can't hold off Payson
September 11, 2025: Spanish Fork, UT 84040 The Payson Lions held off the host Maple Mountain Golden Eagles football squad by a count of 21-18 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Lions now hold a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Springville for a non-league test on Thursday, September 18. Payson will face a Red Devils team coming off a 28-0 non-league win over Pleasant Grove (Pleasant Grove, UT). The Red Devils record now stands at 3-1.
The Golden Eagles (1-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Timpview (Provo, UT). The Thunderbirds go into the non-league challenge with a 0-1 record.
