West Virginia High School Soccer - Greenbrier East knocks off Capital
September 11, 2025: Charleston, WV 25311 Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the Greenbrier East Spartans (Lewisburg, WV) and the host Capital Cougars (Charleston, WV), saw Greenbrier East's soccer squad prevail over Capital by a score of 5-1.
The Spartans (1-1) will now prepare for their battle against Hurricane (Hurricane, WV). The Redskins enter the non-league match with a 4-0 record. In their last match, Hurricane nipped Herbert Hoover (Elkview, WV), 5-2, in a non-league match.
The Cougars now sport a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Oak Hill for a non-league match on Saturday, September 13. Capital will meet a Red Devils team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Princeton (Princeton, WV). The Red Devils record now stands at 1-2.
