In Thursday's non-league challenge, the visiting Maplewood Rockets volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Grand Valley Mustangs.

The Rockets (5-2) will now prepare for their test against St. John (Ashtabula, OH). The Fighting Herald go into the test with a 4-0 record.

The Mustangs now sport a 2-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Champion for a non-league test on Saturday, September 13.
