Tennessee High School Volleyball - Page can't hold off Green Hill
September 12, 2022: Franklin, TN 37064 In Monday's non-league battle, the visiting Green Hill Hawks volleyball team scored a tight 3-2 triumph over the Page Patriots.
The Hawks (16-3) will now prepare for their battle against Mount Juliet (Mt. Juliet, TN). The Golden Bears come into the AAA District 7 battle with a 6-6 record.
Next, the Patriots clash with the Franklin Admirals (Franklin, TN) in a non-league battle, on Wednesday, September 14. Page will attempt to advance on its 7-9 season record. The Admirals come into the battle with a 18-4 record after their 3-2 league loss to Nolensville (Nolensville, TN).
Match Summary
Green Hill captured the first 2 sets with identical 25-22 scores over Page. Both sets were bitterly contested; each team scoring multiple point rallies trading the lead back and forth over the course of both sets. Being down 2 sets to 0, Page had no amount of quit in them and fought back to take the third set, 25-23. Green Hill competed in a Tournament on Friday and Saturday in Chattanooga and the exhaustion of playing so many games in a short time was beginning to show. Page rolled in Set 4 and overwhelmed Green Hill by a score of 25-7, setting up the game-deciding set. Page took an early lead but couldn’t quite sustain the momentum from the prior set. Green Hill was able to overcome a Page lead of several points very late in a shortened set and tied the score at 14-14. Green Hill held on to win the deciding set by a score of 16-14. Page put up a ferocious fight and is a far better team than their overall record indicates. Green Hill pushed their overall record to 16-3 with this win.
