September 12, 2024: Altavista, VA 24517 The crowd at Thursday's non-league contest between the Cumberland Dukes (Cumberland, VA) and the host Altavista Colonels (Altavista, VA), witnessed Cumberland's football squad knock off Altavista by a tally of 28-10.
The Dukes (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Nelson County (Lovingston, VA). The Governors enter the non-league contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, Nelson County was toppled by Prince Edward County (Farmville, VA), 52-0, in a non-league contest.
Coming up next, the Colonels battle the Glass Hilltoppers (Lynchburg, VA) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, September 19. Altavista will attempt to better on its 0-2 season record.
