In Friday's non-league match, the host Sandy Creek Cougars football squad scored a decisive 68-26 triumph over the Alma Cardinals.

The Cougars (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Tri County (DeWitt, NE). The Trojans go into the D1 District 7 (8 Man) challenge with a 1-2 record. In their last challenge, Tri County bounced Centennial (Utica, NE), 42-6, in a non-league challenge.

The Cardinals (1-2) will now prepare for their challenge against St. Patrick's (North Platte, NE). The Irish go into the D1 District 9 (8 Man) challenge with a 2-1 record. In their last test, St. Patrick's triumphed over Kimball (Kimball, NE), 51-8, in a non-league test.
