In Friday's league outing, the Payson Longhorns (Payson, AZ) football squad trounced the host Apache Junction Prospectors (Apache Junction, AZ), by a margin of 57-6.

The Longhorns now sport a 4-0 record. They take the field next when they host ALA - Mesa North for a 3A Mountain outing on Friday, September 19. Payson will clash with a Mavericks squad coming off a 68-6 league loss to Show Low (Show Low, AZ). The Mavericks record now stands at 2-2.

With the defeat, Apache Junction drops to 0-4 on the campaign. The Prospectors host ALA - Ironwood (Ironwood, AZ) to clash with the Warriors in a non-league outing on Friday, September 19.
