Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Twin Valley Panthers (Pilgrims Knob, VA), 42-28 in a non-league battle.

With the triumph, Bland County upgrades its record to 1-2 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Northwood (Saltville, VA) to confront the Panthers in a non-league match on Friday, September 19. The Panthers come into the match with a record of 2-0. Northwood won 32-22 in their recent non-league battle against Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA)

The Panthers now have a 1-2 record. They play next when they host Grundy for a Black Diamond battle on Friday, September 19. Twin Valley will play a Golden Wave team coming off a 52-6 non-league loss to Giles (Pearisburg, VA). The Golden Wave record now stands at 0-3.
