Illinois High School Football - Sparta/Steeleville nudges Saxony Lutheran
September 12, 2025: Sparta, IL 62286 In Friday's non-league match, the host Sparta/Steeleville Bulldogs football squad scored a close 36-30 triumph over the Saxony Lutheran Crusaders.
The Bulldogs (2-1) will now prepare for their match against Chester (Chester, IL). The Yellowjackets go into the Cahokia - Illinois test with a 2-1 record. In their last test, Chester was nipped by Frankfort (West Frankfort, IL), 33-29, in a non-league test.
With the defeat, Saxony Lutheran drops to 2-1 on the campaign. The Crusaders host Marquette Catholic (Alton, IL) to meet the Explorers in a non-league test on Friday, September 26. The Explorers go into the challenge with a record of 2-1.
