Kentucky High School Volleyball - Metcalfe County edged by Shelby Valley

Shelby Valley Wildcats (Pikeville, KY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they observed their volleyball team hold off the visiting Metcalfe County Hornets (Edmonton, KY), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats (13-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Owensboro Catholic (Owensboro, KY). The Aces enter the non-league challenge with a 10-4 record. In their last challenge, Owensboro Catholic got by Owensboro (Owensboro, KY), 3-2, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Hornets face the Glasgow Scotties (Glasgow, KY) in a non-league test, on Saturday, September 13. Metcalfe County will attempt to improve on its 11-7 season record. The Scotties go into the test with a 6-10 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Caverna (Horse Cave, KY).
