Kentucky High School Volleyball - Southwestern can't get by Washburn

September 12, 2025: Somerset, KY 42503

Washburn Pirates (Washburn, TN) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they saw their volleyball squad edge the host Southwestern Warriors (Somerset, KY), 2-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Washburn improves its record to 14-7 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Chattahoochee (Alpharetta, GA) to meet the Cougars in a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 13. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 9-16. Chattahoochee lost 3-0 in their recent league challenge against Seckinger (Buford, GA)

Next, the Warriors meet the Upperman Bees (Baxter, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 13. Southwestern will attempt to advance on its 1-15 season record. The Bees go into the test with a 15-5 record after their 3-0 league win over Livingston Academy (Livingston, TN).
