The crowd at Monday's non-league bout between the Pender Patriots (Burgaw, NC) and the visiting Union Spartans (Rose Hill, NC), saw Pender's volleyball squad beat Union by a tally of 3-0.

With the win, Pender upgrades its record to 1-6 on the year. The Patriots travel to South Columbus (Tabor City, NC) to play the Stallions in a Waccamaw 1A/2A bout on Thursday, September 16. The Stallions go into the bout with a record of 6-0. South Columbus won 3-0 in their recent non-league bout against Fairmont (Fairmont, NC)

The Spartans now own a 0-4 record. They play next when they host Lakewood for a Carolina 1A bout on Tuesday, September 14. Union will play a Leopards squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Camden County (Camden, NC). The Leopards record now stands at 2-3.
