Iowa High School Football - Columbus crushed by West Branch
September 13, 2024: West Branch, IA 52358 West Branch Bears (West Branch, IA) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the visiting Columbus Sailors (Waterloo, IA), 49-7 in a non-league battle.
With the win, West Branch advances its record to 1-2 on the season. The Bears travel to Cascade (Cascade, IA) to play the Cougars in a 1A District 5 battle on Friday, September 20. The Cougars go into the battle with a record of 2-1. Cascade won 20-15 in their recent non-league battle against Monticello (Monticello, IA)
The Sailors now own a 0-4 record. They play next when they host Hudson for a 1A District 4 battle on Friday, September 20. Columbus will play a Pirates team coming off a 35-21 non-league win over Jesup (Jesup, IA). The Pirates record now stands at 3-0.
