In Friday's non-league match, the host Salida Spartans football squad scored a good 28-15 victory over the Florence Huskies.

The Spartans (1-2) will now prepare for their match against Rye (Rye, CO). The Thunderbolts enter the non-league match with a 0-2 record. In their last match, Rye was beaten by Monte Vista (Monte Vista, CO), 43-7, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Huskies confront the Colorado Springs Christian Lions (Colorado Springs, CO) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 20. Florence will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Lions enter the match with a 0-2 record after their 28-25 non-league loss to Woodland Park (Woodland Park, CO).
