September 13, 2024: Pella, IA 50219 Grundy Center Spartans (Grundy Center, IA) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the host Pella Christian Eagles (Pella, IA), 40-7 in a non-league battle.
With the win, Grundy Center advances its record to 3-0 on the season. The Spartans host East Marshall (Le Grand, IA) to play the Mustangs in a 1A District 4 battle on Friday, September 20. The Mustangs go into the battle with a record of 3-0. East Marshall won 35-0 in their recent non-league battle against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (Eddyville, IA)
The Eagles now own a 0-3 record. They play next when they travel to Pleasantville for a 1A District 6 battle on Friday, September 20. Pella Christian will play a Trojans team coming off a 34-24 non-league win over Lynnville-Sully (Sully, IA). The Trojans record now stands at 2-2.
