Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Lafayette County Huskers (Higginsville, MO) and the host Smith-Cotton Tigers (Sedalia, MO), observed Lafayette County's volleyball squad nudge Smith-Cotton by a score of 2-1.

With the win, Lafayette County improves its record to 10-0 on the season. The Huskers travel to Warrensburg (Warrensburg, MO) to encounter the Tigers in a non-league test on Saturday, September 13. The Tigers go into the test with a record of 1-2. Warrensburg won 3-0 in their recent league test against Marshall (Marshall, MO)

The Tigers now own a 5-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Jefferson City for a Class 4 District 5 test on Monday, September 15. Smith-Cotton will encounter a Jays squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Lutheran (St. Peters, MO). The Jays record now stands at 4-6.
