September 14, 2022: Highlands Ranch, CO 80129 In Wednesday's league battle, the visiting DSST: College View Wolves soccer squad scored a close 4-1 triumph over the STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans.
The Wolves (4-1) will now prepare for their battle against The Pinnacle (Federal Heights, CO). The Timberwolves come into the non-league battle with a 0-3 record. In their last battle, The Pinnacle by Stargate School (Thornton, CO), 4-3, in a non-league battle.
The Spartans (0-2) will now prepare for their battle against Lotus School For Excellence (Aurora, CO). The Meteors come into the 3A/2A Confluence battle with a 3-2 record. In their last battle, Lotus School For Excellence nudged Aurora West College Prep Academy (Aurora, CO), 3-2, in a league battle.
Match Summary
The STEM boys soccer team played hard against DSST: College View, despite a 30-minute lightning delay at the start of the second half and playing through a downpour. Sophomore Andy Munro made an incredible block against a penalty kick. Freshman Matt Moore demonstrated amazing footwork, weaving the ball between defending players. Senior Jonny Eldar played awesome defense, often using his body or even his head to block shots on goal. Last but not least, Manik Thapa scored our only goal! We walked away with a score of 4-1 with College View taking the win, but our players are steadily improving with each practice and game.
