Oregon High School Soccer - Stayton nudges Gervais
September 14, 2023: Gervais, OR 97026 Stayton Eagles (Stayton, OR) fans were pleased Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Gervais Cougars (Gervais, OR), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Eagles confront the Sweet Home Huskies (Sweet Home, OR) in a 4A Oregon West challenge, on Thursday, September 21. Stayton will attempt to better on its 1-4 season record. The Huskies enter the challenge with a 0-4 record after their 7-0 non-league loss to Western Christian (Salem, OR).
The Cougars now have a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Blanchet Catholic for a 3A/2A/1A-SD2 Special District 2 challenge on Tuesday, September 19. Gervais will confront a Cavaliers team coming off a 4-1 league win over Taft (Lincoln City, OR). The Cavaliers record now stands at 2-0.
