In Friday's league match, the visiting Belmont Cardinals football squad scored a close 26-20 victory over the Walnut Wildcats.

In their next game, the Cardinals clash with the Red Bay Tigers (Red Bay, AL) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 22. Belmont will attempt to move on its 2-1 season record. The Tigers enter the match with a 3-1 record after their 50-6 league win over Sheffield (Sheffield, AL).
