The Payson Longhorns (Payson, AZ) football defeated the visiting Fountain Hills Falcons (Fountain Hills, AZ), 14-3 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Longhorns face the Chino Valley Cougars (Chino Valley, AZ) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 22. Payson will attempt to advance on its 3-2 season record. The Cougars enter the bout with a 1-3 record after their 35-31 non-league loss to Maryvale (Phoenix, AZ).

The Falcons (2-3) will now prepare for their bout against Gilbert Christian (Gilbert, AZ). The Knights enter the non-league bout with a 3-2 record. In their last bout, Gilbert Christian defeated Crismon (Queen Creek, AZ), 29-12, in a non-league bout.
