September 15, 2023: East Greenwich, RI 02818 Rocky Hill Country Day Mariners (East Greenwich, RI) supporters were pleased Friday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Lexington Christian Academy Lions (Lexington, MA), 12-3 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Mariners confront the St. Thomas More Chancellors (Oakdale, CT) in a Southeastern New England challenge, on Wednesday, September 20. Rocky Hill Country Day will attempt to move on its 3-0 season record.
The Lions now possess a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bancroft for a Eastern Independent challenge on Saturday, September 23.
Game Summary
Rocky Hill beat Lexington Christian Academy 12-3 on a blustery Friday afternoon in East Greenwich. The Mariners were on the front foot quickly with two early goals, and then responded well to Lexington pulling one back to take a commanding lead before halftime and leave the result in little doubt. Sophomore Vitor led the way with a hat trick, including a spectacular strike with his left foot when playing left back in the second half. Seniors John David O'Hara, Jake Krikorian, and sophomore Henry Putier each notched a brace. Vitor also led the team with three assists, with Krikorian, O'Hara, and juniors Carter Holubesko, and Koray Kokturk each handing out two dimes. Rocky Hill n will be action next when they host SENE foe St. Thomas More on Wednesday.
