In Monday's non-league challenge, the host Athenian Owls volleyball squad scored a 3-1 win over the Contra Costa Christian Cougars.
With the win, Athenian improves its record to 3-5 on the season. The Owls host Head-Royce (Oakland, CA) to face the Jayhawks in a Bay Counties - East test on Tuesday, September 16. The Jayhawks go into the test with a record of 8-4. Head-Royce won 3-1 in their recent league test against College Prep (Oakland, CA)
The Cougars now own a 2-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fremont Christian for a Bay Counties - General test on Thursday, September 18. Contra Costa Christian will meet a Warriors team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Cornerstone Christian (Antioch, CA). The Warriors record now stands at 2-5.
