Baxter Springs Lions (Baxter Springs, KS) boosters left the game thrilled Monday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the visiting Frontenac Raiders (Frontenac, KS), 2-1 in a league challenge.

The Lions (7-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Columbus (Columbus, KS). The Titans come into the Crawford-Neosho-Cherokee challenge with a 0-5 record. In their last challenge, Columbus was nudged by St. Mary's-Colgan (Pittsburg, KS), 2-0, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Raiders face the Pittsburg Dragons (Pittsburg, KS) in a non-league test, on Thursday, September 18. Frontenac will attempt to improve on its 10-7 season record. The Dragons go into the test with a 8-2 record after their 2-0 league win over Labette County (Altamont, KS).
