The Jets (0-4) will now prepare for their game against Swett (Crockett, CA). The Indians enter the Bay Shore game with a 0-3 record. In their last game, Swett dropped by St. Joseph Notre Dame (Alameda, CA), 3-0, in a league game.
9/16/09 - "Nothing Personal - Just Business" Berkeley High played host to Encinal High for both JV and Varsity matches. Although these two teams are former league rivals - the bigger rivalry stemmed from the fact that the Berkeley coaches were formerly student athlete and coaching assistant at Encinal. Coach Amecia Young led the Yellow Jackets JV squad to a 25-11, 25-13 victory over her alma mater. The varsity squad continued the Yellow Jackets winning pace with scores of 25-21, 25-17, 25-23. Although Encinal didn't go down easy, Head Coach Lisa Young, pushed her athletes to finish the match in 3 sets. The team scoring was led by Emilia Schmall with 7 aces, Annalise Dohrer with 7 kills, and Chareise Culberson with 10 blocks plus 8 kills. Berkeley setter Mia Sommers contributed 17 assists. Berkeley goes on the road tomorrow to take on Presentation High in San Jose.
