In Friday's non-league contest, the Elbert Bulldogs (Elbert, CO) volleyball team toppled the visiting Stratton Eagles (Stratton, CO), by a count of 3-1.

The Bulldogs (7-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Hanover (Colorado Springs, CO). The Hornets enter the 1A Black Forest challenge with a 2-5 record. In their last challenge, Hanover went down by Simla (Simla, CO), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Eagles encounter the Cheyenne Wells Tigers (Cheyenne Wells, CO) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, October 1. Stratton will attempt to move on its 0-4 season record.

The Lady Bulldogs played a very scrappy Stratton team tonight. Stratton's defense made it very hard to find a hole to hit with the ball. Elbert hit well in the first, third and fourth sets, but had a string of missed serves and hitting/passing errors that cost them the second set. It was a great win for the Bulldogs during their homecoming week. They face Hanover @ Hanover on Tuesday, Pikes Peak Christian at PPC on Thursday and Simla on Friday. It will be a challenging week for Elbert who now is 7-0 on the season.
