September 16, 2021: South Whitley, IN 46787 The Whitko Wildcats volleyball team (South Whitley, IN), went down 3-0 in Thursday's league challenge with the visiting Southwood Knights (Wabash, IN)
The Knights (10-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Northfield (Wabash, IN). The Norsemen enter the Three Rivers challenge with a 4-9 record. In their last challenge, Northfield went down by Rochester (Rochester, IN), 3-0, in a league challenge.
Next, the Wildcats encounter the Wabash Apaches (Wabash, IN) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 18. Whitko will attempt to move on its 6-11 season record. The Apaches enter the challenge with a 11-4 record after their 3-0 league win over North Miami (Denver, IN).
Match Summary
The Lady Wildcats Lost a close one to Southwood Thursday night. The first set was back and forth between the two Three Rivers Conference opponents. Whitko was ahead early on and then Southwood went on a service run to bring them back. The teams were tied back up again at 22 but the Lady Knights were too much for Whitko to handle. Set two was a similar game up until the last 10 points where the Lady Wildcats put together a string of errors to finish the set. Set three was won at the service line by Southwood.
