September 16, 2022: Aledo, IL 61231 The Mercer County Golden Eagles (Aledo, IL) football routed the visiting Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes (Abingdon, IL), 59-7 in Friday's league bout.
In their next game, the Golden Eagles face the ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars (Oneida, IL) in a Lincoln Trail bout, on Friday, September 23. Mercer County will attempt to advance on its 3-1 season record. The Cougars enter the bout with a 2-1 record after their 30-18 league win over Princeville (Princeville, IL).
The Tornadoes (1-3) will now prepare for their bout against Wethersfield/Annawan (Kewanee, IL). The Titans enter the Lincoln Trail bout with a 3-1 record. In their last bout, Wethersfield/Annawan was overwhelmed by Marquette (Ottawa, IL), 24-7, in a non-league bout.
