September 16, 2022: Waxhaw, NC 28173 In Friday's non-league game, the Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC) football team smashed the visiting Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), by a final score of 41-3.
The Mavericks (2-3) will now prepare for their game against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC). The Pirates come into the 4A West Conference 58 game with a 2-2 record.
The Cougars now hold a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ashe County for a 3A/4A West Conference 52 game on Friday, September 30. Alexander Central will battle a Huskies team coming off a 55-21 league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 2-3.
