September 16, 2023: Morris, IL 60450 Morris Redskins (Morris, IL) fans were thrilled Saturday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Redskins face the Ottawa Pirates (Ottawa, IL) in a challenge, on Monday, September 18. Morris will attempt to better on its 2-2 season record. The Pirates enter the challenge with a 3-6 record after their 5-0 league loss to Sycamore (Sycamore, IL).
The Coalers now have a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they host Peotone for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, September 26. Coal City will face a Blue Devils team coming off a 2-2 non-league Streator (Streator, IL). The Blue Devils record now stands at 0-0.
