Ohio High School Soccer - Padua Franciscan nudges Elyria
September 16, 2023: Elyria, OH 44035 Padua Franciscan Bruins (Parma, OH) fans were pleased Saturday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Elyria Pioneers (Elyria, OH), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Bruins confront the Lake Catholic Cougars (Mentor, OH) in a Crown challenge, on Tuesday, September 19. Padua Franciscan will attempt to better on its 5-5 season record. The Cougars enter the challenge with a 9-0 record after their 4-0 non-league win over Gilmour Academy (Gates Mills, OH).
The Pioneers now have a 2-7 record. They take the field next when they host Valley Forge for a non-league challenge on Monday, September 18. Elyria will confront a Patriots team coming off a 7-1 non-league loss to North Ridgeville (North Ridgeville, OH). The Patriots record now stands at 2-3.
