In Monday's non-league challenge, the host Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions volleyball team scored a 3-0 victory over the Apollo Hawks.

The Mountain Lions (11-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Liberty (Peoria, AZ). The Lions enter the 6A - Desert Valley challenge with a 4-1 record. In their last challenge, Liberty beat Mountain View (Mesa, AZ), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Hawks face the Boulder Creek Jaguars (Anthem, AZ) in a non-league test, on Wednesday, September 18. Apollo will attempt to improve on its 2-6 season record. The Jaguars go into the test with a 6-7 record after their 3-0 league loss to O'Connor (Phoenix, AZ).
